Pellet Boiler System, Water Treatment Plant, Wolfeboro, NH

AECm was engaged by the Town of Wolfeboro, NH to assess the existing HVAC systems in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), and the Public Safety Building. With the sustainability initiative of reducing energy costs, improving systems reliability and performance, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels, AECm designed various solutions for the buildings.

AECm designed and managed the construction of a new commercial wood pellet boiler system with an automated hopper-feed system in the WTP. This system replaced oil-fired boilers and dramatically reduced fuel costs. New high-efficiency air-source heat pumps were designed and installed in the WTP to improve thermal comfort and reduce fuel and maintenance costs. AECm’s design solution for the Public Safety Building included new air-source heat pump systems and zone controls to improve efficiency and occupant comfort.
